Manicure destroys the nail plate

Some products destroy the top layer of the nail and thus an infection gets into it. And UV lamps can cause thermal burns to the skin of the hands.

Dermatologist Yulia Galliamova revealed the dangers of shellac for the nail plate. This is reported REN TV.

According to her, when applying shellac, the masters destroy the top shiny layer of the nail. Namely, it serves as a protective shell of the plate. Therefore, this process negatively affects its quality.

“During the procedure, the nail becomes porous, and any infection easily enters the nail plate and affects it,” the doctor said, adding that after this, patients often develop a fungal infection of the nails.

Galliamova also stated that the ultraviolet rays of the lamp affect the skin of the hands and can cause thermal burns or other skin diseases under the nails.

And since the nail plate becomes thinner after each manicure, this often leads to the formation of onycholysis – detachment of the nail plate from the nail bed.

Therefore, the specialist recommends making six-month intervals between applying shellac.

“The nail on the hands grows in five to six months. This time is necessary for the nail plate to fully grow and recover,” the expert concluded.

Recall that earlier manicurist from Brovary grew 10-meter nails and broke the record.
