The regional governor Prof. Maria Neykova: I categorically differ from his actions

Deputy the regional governor of Burgas Asen Bondzhev, who was appointed by the caretaker Minister Stefan Yanev. in June, led a protest by anti-vaxers, who marched through the city’s central streets and reached the Regional Health Inspectorate (RHI) building on Alexandrovska Street.

Earlier, protesters blocked a junction and occupied the district administration building, demanding a meeting with district governor Prof. Maria Neykova. However, she was on a business trip to the capital. Then Bondzhev went down to the anti-vaxers.

“I am sorry that I have to be in this position, because I should be here among you,” said Bondzhev, who has been actively involved in protests against the GERB government in Burgas for months.

He then led the procession to the RHI. In front of protesters and the media, Deputy the district held a telephone conversation with the director of the health inspection Dr. Georgi Pazderov.

After a meeting between the two, a petition was prepared with 13 requests, including the abolition of the requirement for a green certificate, freedom of access to schools and health facilities, free choice of wearing masks and vaccinations, autopsy of covid deaths.

If the measures are not lifted by midnight, protesters have threatened to stage a new protest in Burgas at 12 noon on October 21st.

Meanwhile, the regional governor Maria Neykova categorically dissociated herself from the actions of her deputy. In an address to the media, Neykova wrote that the position expressed by Bondzhev is personal and contradicts the position of the regional governor of Burgas.

“I support the efforts of the Council of Ministers to deal with the complicated situation with the spread of the life-threatening virus.
I call in these difficult times to trust medicine, which is called to seek a solution to protect the health and life of society. “Let us be responsible to each other and share the responsibility of our actions so that we can quickly, like other countries, deal with the complex epidemiological situation,” said Neykova.
