Renowned filmmaker Denis Villeneuve is in negotiations to direct the third installment of “Dune” and adapt another award-winning book.

According to Variety, talks with Legendary are at an early stage, but Villeneuve is expected to join the project to direct, produce and/or adapt “Dune 3.” His producing partner, Tanya Lapointe, would also be involved.

On the other hand, Legendary and Villeneuve are also working on the adaptation of “Nuclear War: A Scenario”, the Pulitzer Prize finalist book by Annie Jacobsen.
