Workers from the Proempleo program carried out a protest to denounce two months of unpaid wages.
“So far, since May, they have not canceled. They are people who with their salary are the livelihood of their home. They are super complicated morally and psychologically. They have also humiliated us in the places where we provide services. Here services are provided in municipalities, education and health. We need to be recognized as Proempleo workers. I need a real answer and that they pay us on the appropriate dates,” they told Radio La Discusión.
From the presidential delegation of Ñuble, they indicated that the transfer of resources must be validated by various intervening institutions before the transfer is made to the workers, which should take place in less than 24 hours.
“The number of actors that intervene in this process, let’s say, the payment of salaries to different beneficiaries of the program, effectively derived the decision that was eventually made daily in the region to a centralized decision. That is why different actors intervene in this task, both the Comptroller’s Office to this extent, as well as the regional government, the Undersecretary of Labor and of course the presidential delegation, who also delegates the execution to a corporation that is definitely the one that pays them. salaries to different beneficiaries of this program. This year, last June, Gore approved the continuity of the Proempleo program, favoring 243 people, mostly women, who have been working in different public services for several years under this modality. There are $1,631 million that are destined to maintain jobs, especially in communes where unemployment rates are high.
Of the 243 people that Proempleo benefits, 217 are women, and 90% of the people hired belong to the 80% most vulnerable, according to the Social Registry of Households.
