It is reported that as of July 26, 2022, the deadline for payments by Naftogaz to holders of Eurobonds has expired.
The company noted that last week the Cabinet of Ministers ordered the NJSC to take any action on Eurobonds only after a separate agreement with the government. Management applied in advance for approval of payments on Eurobonds, as there were sufficient funds in the accounts. However, they did not receive permission to carry them out.
The default of Naftogaz deprives the company of access to the international capital market.

Recall that earlier RBC-Ukraine wrote that Cabinet demands from Naftogaz start a second round of negotiations with investors on debt restructuring. To keep funds in the accounts for the purchase of gas for the winter.
Prior to this, the Cabinet also proposed delay payments to investors “Ukravtodora” and “Ukrenergo” until the end of 2024.
