Retired Gen. Hikmet Köksal, the former Land Forces Commander, was sent off on his last journey. Retired Gen. Hikmet Köksal, the former Commander of the Land Forces, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the trial on February 28, but continued in the Supreme Court of Appeals, died.
A lunchtime funeral was held for Köksal at the Selimiye Mosque.

Speaking at the funeral, his son Namık Köksal said, “Let’s say the last point. We saw pain, we suffered. We do not wait for the trial process, we do not know. Regardless of the outcome, I lost my father. I can not find anything to say. I can only say that we are suffering ”.
