Deaths in Ghana after truck full of explosives exploded | Abroad

The truck collided with a motorcyclist near Apiate, after which the explosives exploded. That happened near the mining town of Bogoso in the West African country. Images on social media, which cannot be verified, show that the damage is extensive. A government official reports that at least 500 buildings have been destroyed.

Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo tweeted that he had been informed of the “tragic accident.” A spokesperson for the mining company also confirmed the accident.
