All track activities scheduled for Saturday in Jerez canceled, Superbike and Supersport 600 Race 1 canceled after the serious accident that affected four riders during Race 1 of the Supersport 300. Dean Berta Vinales, cousin of Maverick MotoGP rider with Aprilia lost his life due to the consequences of the accident. The tragedy started in turn two at the start of the eleventh lap and involved the Viñales Racing Team rider himself, as well as Alejandro Carrion of the Kawasaki GP Project team, Daniel Mogeda, Team # 109 Kawasaki and Harry Khouri, Fusport – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki. Apparently, Dean Berta Viñales should have been hit on the track following the crash. In a few seconds the frost fell on the paddock of the Spanish circuit, the live TV connection was also interrupted, which immediately foreshadowed the worst. At 15.11 on 25 September the official Superbike statement announcing the rider’s death.

the helicopter does not take off

Initially Dean was prepared to be transported by helicopter to the hospital in Seville, the closest and most equipped to the Jerez circuit. But at a later time the helicopter’s take-off was postponed, a detail that further confirmed the hypothesis that the situation had precipitated. There was no hope for the Spaniard. The pilot suffered serious head and chest injuries. The medical cars immediately arrived at the scene of the accident and the driver was assisted on the track, inside the ambulance and at the circuit Medical Center, but without success.
