The police write on Twitter that the deceased has been taken care of by the police forensic technicians.
– A dead person has been found in the sea at the far end of the Korsvikfjord. Forensic scientists have taken care of the deceased. Now a job begins to find out who this may be, says operations manager Lars Hyberg in Agder police district to TV 2.
The deceased was discovered by passers-by who saw something in the water.
According to the operations manager, there is very little the police can say at the present time about where the person has died.
– The person in question was found far out in the open sea, but we have experience that dead people can be transported far away, so there is nothing we can say anything about yet, says Hyberg.
The police are now working to check the dead against the missing in the area.
– But the primary thing is the identification work. That is the key to finding out what happened, says the operations manager.
