The Tingba student movement called “extermination of the Jews”…Three presidents were fired for not expressing their stance and were fired. Harvard apologized | Lianhe News Network

American UniversityPalestineThe student movement intensified into an anti-Semitic storm, with students even shouting “genocide of the Jews.” The presidents of Harvard, MIT and the University of Pennsylvania attended a hearing in the House of Representatives this week to accept questions, but their words were evasive and unwilling to condemn, and they were criticized by the public afterwards. In this regard, Harvard President Claudine Gay expressed his apology in an exclusive interview published by the school newspaper on the 8th.

“I’m sorry,” Gay said. “Words matter. When words amplify grief and pain, I don’t know how you can feel other than regret.”

She was asked by members of parliament at a hearing on the 5th whether the call for “genocide of the Jews” by pro-Palestinian student activists constituted bullying and violated the campus code of conduct. Gay said “it depends on the situation at the time.” The congressman pressed Gay again and asked her to answer yes or no, but she still gave the same answer. The congressman interrupted angrily and said, “It doesn’t depend on the situation. The answer is ‘yes’. That’s why you should resign.”

“I was involved in a long and heated exchange of words when it came to discussing policies and procedures,” Gay said. “At that moment I should have calmed down and returned to the truth that guides me, which is that Harvard will not tolerate incitement of violence against the Jewish community. Or threaten our Jewish students, this behavior will not be ignored by the school.”

“Essentially, I wasn’t communicating what I was really thinking,” Gay said. “It’s really hard and makes me sad to think that what I said magnified the pain.”

The hearing drew condemnation from the White House, alumni and campus groups. Axios and CNN reported that University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill has yet to apologize for her testimony and that one donor has withdrawn a $100 million donation to the school.

Hedge fund billionaire and Harvard alumnus Bill Ackman recently posted on X (Twitter): “Throughout the hearing, the three acted like hostile witnesses. They were smiling. Showing profound contempt for Congress and a categorical refusal to answer basic questions with a yes or no. They must all resign.”
