De Jonge: delay in vaccinations due to delivery problems Janssen | Inland

The minister assumed that Janssen would supply 3 million vaccines in the second quarter. The majority, 2 million vaccines, would be delivered in June. But due to all kinds of setbacks, that number is starting to fall very far from the agreements in the contract, according to De Jonge. The ministry is still calculating exactly how much will be delivered.

So far, almost a million Janssen vaccines should have been delivered. But according to the figures on the corona dashboard, the counter is only now at about 313,000 shots. The expected deliveries up to and including 20 June on the dashboard, which according to the ministry are still surrounded by a lot of uncertainty, come to a total of less than 1.2 million.

De Jonge strived for everyone over the age of eighteen who so wished, to have had their first shot at the beginning of July. Incidentally, only one shot of the Janssen vaccine is needed. The other vaccines require two shots, with an interval of several weeks.

On Friday evening, Prime Minister Mark Rutte and De Jonge will give another press conference about corona and the relaxation.
