Days of historical parks and gardens in Latvian castles and manors will take place for the second time, the organizers inform the association Latvian Castles and Manors Association.
The association points out that the event is aimed at creating a better understanding of cultural heritage in Latvian society, promoting the study, restoration and sustainable use of gardens and parks, as well as promoting local tourism.
26 castles and manors from all regions of Latvia will take part in the Days of Historical Parks and Gardens on July 4 and 5.
After a much-slowed daily race, limited physical presence, long-term online presence and the depths of the World Wide Web, we invite you to great places for leisurely walks, relaxation and exploration in the summer bloom. A day spent in the magic of ancient parks and gardens will literally and indirectly be like a breath of clean and fresh air with a touch of antiquity for visitors and a lot of hope for the owners of castles and manors.
In Kurzeme Dundaga Castle, Durbe Castle, Jaunauce Castle, Jaunmoku Castle, Kazdanga Castle and Manor Park, Kuksu Manor, Spare Manor, Tash Manor, Tingere Manor and Ventspils Livonian Order Castle will be waiting for guests.
In Zemgale – Abgunste manor, Eleja manor Tea house, Ērberge manor, Lielplatone manor, Lielzalve manor, Pālena manor, Vecauce castle, Vecmėsele manor, Vilce manor, Vircava manor and Zaļā (Zaļenieki) manor.
In Vidzeme – Aluksne castle, Cesvaine castle manor, Krimulda manor and Ungurmuiza.
In Latgale – Varakļāni manor house.
Each participant has found their own story and narrator about the cherished park and garden, and the work done and planned in it; their scents and tastes in beds, on plates and glasses; your sounds in sheet music, instruments and human voices; their creative workshops, exciting board and garden games, and sports tournaments to introduce, delight and involve everyone interested in both days or just one of them. You will also be able to see exhibitions, museum expositions, shop plants and fairs.

They can also be found on the sites and / or social networks of the participants – castles and manors. Before leaving, it is recommended to contact the contact person provided by the participant to clarify the information.
Participants will ensure that national epidemiological precautions are taken to control the spread of COVID-19 infection.
