Two nursery teachers at a national and public daycare center in Incheon, who are accused of routinely abusing 10 inmates, including children with disabilities, apologized by sending gifts and letters to victims prior to interrogation (warrant substantive examination) before arrest on the 15th.

In an interview with Yonhap News, an official from the victims’ parent group said, “One of the child care teachers visited the victim’s home in the early morning of the 15th, and said,’I don’t have a chance to see my face after today’. I sent a message.” He left a gift basket of cookies in front of the front door of the house.
– The nursery teacher sent a text message to the parents in the late afternoon of the previous day, saying, “I know that the disappointment and pain must have been as great as you believed,” and “I regret not being able to move to apologize quickly.”

Another nursery school teacher who attended the warrant deliberation on this day also said to the victim parents,’I made a really big mistake and I want to apologize. It is known that he sent a handwritten apology stating that he will atone for life with a sinful heart.
These nursery teachers were accused of abusing 10 students aged 1-6 years old, including 5 children with disabilities, at a public daycare center in Seo-gu, Incheon from November to December last year.

In the process of investigating the six childcare teachers working at this daycare center and the director in their 40s, the police decided that the abuse was severe and habitual, and applied for a warrant in advance.
The police estimate that 50 to 100 times of suspected abuse of these two child care teachers were confirmed by CCTV at day care centers.
Parents of victims allege that the nursery teacher grabbed the head of the student and dragged it or hit the face with a mop.
CCTVs were also caught swinging cushions or neglecting children while nursery teachers grilling meat at a daycare center.
The actual warrant review of the two nursery teachers will be conducted by Lee Won-joong, the head of the Incheon District Court warrant, starting at 2:30 pm on the same day.
Whether or not to be arrested will be decided late in the afternoon.
