Datt launches ‘Heroic Pedestrian, advance safely’ campaign | THE UNIVERSAL

With messages and educational days to promote self-care, good practices and safe behaviors when driving on the roads, the Administrative Department of Traffic and Transport, Datt, launched several educational initiatives during the tourist season.

The campaign ‘Heroic pedestrian, advance safely’, took its first steps in the neighborhoods of Villa Estrella and Ternera, where the Road Education team installed stagings to address the pedestrians of the sector on the importance of making safe crossings; those who did, were symbolically praised with star stickers as badges for their good behavior in complying with this practice of self-care when moving on the road.

These activities impacted more than 280 citizens directly and more than 130 indirectly who received the message from the transit authority in Cartagena.

Road pedagogy in season

Faced with the influx of visitors during the Semana Mayor season, the transit agency carried out a cycle of activities to move messages of pedagogy on road safety, installed at strategic points such as kilometer 0 of the Vía del Mar, the Rafael Núñez International Airport, Transport Terminal, Historic Center and the entrance to the tourist area in Bocagrande, under the slogan: ‘Let’s keep the most sacred! May your best reflection in the Semana Mayor be to save life on the road’.

“Since Monday, March 29, when we started the pedagogical interventions, to date, we have approached some 980 citizens of Cartagena and visitors, in a whole commitment to sensitize them so that their behavior is responsible in any of their roles on the roads, so that we can prevent and control the risks of road accidents at this time of year, after increasing the number of motor vehicles and pedestrian flow. Our greatest interest is that they have a safe and smooth mobility experience ”, stated Fernando Osorio, Datt’s Deputy Director of Operations.
