The ax has fallen! Dare Me, the teen-cheerleading series on Netflix will not know a season 2. It was the USA Network which announced the bad news to the fans. A decision taken just three months after the broadcast of its first season on the American channel and one month after its arrival on the giant Netflix. The series will therefore not be renewed in the end, an astonishing award given the popularity of the teen-show and the positive reviews.. A verdict which must also have surprised the author and the showrunner Megan Abbott. The latter, previously questioned about the possibility of a new season, then replied to Entertainment Weekly : “We only went through half the book in the first season.”

And if for the time being, no reason has been put forward to explain the cancellation of Dare Me, fans have risen to the creed on social networks. Expressing their dismay and anger, they appealed to Netflix to come and save the teen-show. Indeed, this is not the first time that the platform has intervened in this kind of case. Remember, in 2018 after the fan campaign called #SaveLucifer, Netflix made the decision to produce season 4 of the evil series two years after its cancellation by Fox. Will the platform do the same with Dare Me ? Only the future will tell us ! For now, we just have to firmly cross our fingers and continue to mobilize on Twitter.
