He suffered fractures and was taken to hospital.
According to police superintendent Ann Karin Sundgården, the injuries should not be critical, even if he fell 6-10 meters down from the chairlift.
– He is hospitalized in Lillehammer and has fractures in the hips, she says.
Was on a school trip
Sundgården says that so far they do not have further information about exactly where in the lift this happened. It is therefore difficult to know the exact height.
– He was on a school trip with other students, but he was alone in the elevator when he fell down.
The accident happened approx. at 1400 on Sunday. The police do not yet have any information about the cause of the accident, nor exactly where in the chairlift it happened. The chairlift has a safety bar.
Last summer, there was also an accident in Hafjell. It was in connection with a rescue exercise, when two employees were injured.
In 2011, a Danish 11-year-old was injured then a construction crane fell over the gondola.
