Dangerous plastic particles: cheese maker calls Lidl-Gouda back

A cheese maker who supplies Lidl calls back grated Gouda. The packs may contain blue plastic particles. Read here which batch is affected and where the cheese was delivered to.

A Gouda of the Milbona brand sold at the discount store Lidl has been recalled because of possible plastic parts. Consumers should not consume the product “Milbona Gouda grated young, matured at least 7 weeks, 250g” with the best before date 23.03.2020, Lidl Germany announced on Tuesday.

The cheese was sold in Lidl branches in Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. According to the Dutch manufacturer Delicateur, it cannot be ruled out that the product contains blue foreign bodies.

The plastic particles could cause injury when consumed, it said.
