Jan Šimák, who has been convicted of attempted murder, illicit armaments and violations of domestic freedom, has been on the run for ten months. Last year, the Regional Court in Prague sent Šimák behind bars for eight years. However, he did not serve his sentence.
Police are asking for help in the search. “If someone has information about the man they are looking for and knows where he is staying or hiding, let him call 158. The man could be dangerous,” police spokesman Jan Daněk warns.
Šimák measures approximately 170 to 180 centimeters and is 67 years old. He is of medium build and has brown eyes and hair.
In the summer of 2018 in Všenory near Prague, Šimák crept up to a neighbor and shot him at close range. Subsequently, the men began to wash. During the fight, Šimák beat the man on the head with a hammer. Fortunately, the victim managed to defend himself and call for help.
