Dalin confirms, the pack is getting closer

The Vendée Globe is still led by Charlie Dalin on Friday, but the race continues to be very close with very close positions between each other. Between Australia and South America, the fight is fierce.

While Charlie Dalin (Apivia) is back a little ahead of Yannick Bestaven (Maître CoQ IV) at the head of the Vendée Globe, we continue to observe an increasingly clear grouping behind, for the rest of the fleet. Starting from Boris Herrmann (SeaExplorer-Yacht Club de Monaco), still third, all the skippers have thus moved closer to the lead compared to the previous score. The entire top 10 is now almost 300 miles (only the tenth Maxime Sorel is slightly above this bar, pointing 305 miles from Dalin).

On this Christmas day, sailors of course took the opportunity to send their messages by video, some with magnificent adapted sweaters. Special mention to Arnaud Boissières, with a particularly thick white beard. “Enjoy these moments, even solo under a blanket, on the sofa, I would be happy,” recalls Sorel, while Herrmann films himself right next to Le Cam. Always the right word, the latter concludes: “To all those who are all alone, I am too, so we are together. I’m sending you big kisses.”
