Quoted from detikSumatra, the incident started on Monday (28/8/2023) around 04.00 WIB. At that time, the Head of the Dairi Police AKBP Reinhard Nainggolan came to check on the Dairi Police Headquarters. However, there were no officers on guard at the guard post.
“Go to the Police Headquarters at 4 o’clock, look at the guard post there was no one, he called via HT didn’t answer, everyone slept,” said Head of Public Relations of the Dairi Police Iptu Doni Saleh, Tuesday (29/8/2023).
After that, Reinhard called the picket personnel via handy talky (HT), but no one answered. Reinhard was furious that he finally gathered the personnel who were on picket at that time. Doni said there were around 19 personnel on picket.
“All picket functions, there are 19 people, there is an intelligence function, there is then, sabhara, criminal justice, they collect it,” said Doni.
Then, Reinhard took action by hitting the picket personnel. However, there were two personnel who objected to Reinhardt’s actions. The two personnel are called Bripka DS and Bripka HS.
“There were around 19 people who were hit at the beginning, these two objected, what was our mistake, he said, because these members answered like that, (Reinhard) added more emotion,” he concluded.

The reason the Dairi Police Chief Beat Members
Dairi Police Chief AKBP Reinhard Nainggolan beat 19 of his members. Head of Public Relations of the Dairi Police, Iptu Doni Saleh, said that Reinhard’s actions were a form of disciplinary action.
“It was a disciplinary action, that was his (Reinhard) excuse,” he said.
Doni said Reinhard was annoyed because the personnel had not done their job properly. The reason is, when he checked the guard post, there were no officers on guard. That was what made Reinhardt emotional.
“So, the reason he hit was because of emotion, that’s all,” he explained.
2 Members Admission to Hospital
Of the 19 members who were beaten by Dairi Police Chief AKBP Reinhard Nainggolan, two of them were hospitalized. They are Bripka DS and Bripka HS.
Dairi Police Chief Apologizes
Dairi Police Chief AKBP Reinhard Nainggolan apologized for the incident where he beat members to the hospital. Reinhard admitted that he had visited the two members he had beaten.
“I apologize for the incident,” said Reinhard, Wednesday (30/8/2023).
Reinhardt also promised not to repeat his actions again.
“I apologized and promised not to repeat it,” he said.
