Dahlan Sharply Criticizes Mutual Cooperation Vaccination: Shame!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Former Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Dahlan Iskan criticized the Covid-19 Gotong Royong Vaccination program. The criticism was conveyed by Dahlan in his post titled “Leaky Roof” on the site www.disway.id which aired on Monday (5/7/2021).

According to him, there is good news in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, namely that people are enthusiastic about participating in vaccinations. This is evident from the vaccination rate that had penetrated 1 million injections per day some time ago.

“It’s just that hundreds of millions of people have to be vaccinated. The next three months will not be able to reach 60%,” wrote Dahlan.

The bad news, he continued, was the Gotong Royong vaccination that didn’t seem to be working. In fact, Dahlan said that entrepreneurs have long registered thousands of employees to get vaccines immediately. Entrepreneurs are also ready to pay Rp. 1 million/two injections.

“The businessmen keep charging Kadin. The answer is always the same: wait. Actually this is a bit embarrassing. The private sector, which is usually more angry at the complicated government bureaucracy, is now humiliating itself: losing to the bureaucracy. Even losing to government vaccines doesn’t even work,” Dahlan wrote.

He also insinuated that the struggle for the chair of the general chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry some time ago was more important, thus allowing Gotong Royong vaccination.

“It’s a pity that our noble motto is Gotong Royong: it doesn’t work. Even in the most emergency and most needed times,” wrote Dahlan.
