Dae-Yong Lee Wins ‘Seokcheon Research Award’ in Pediatrics and Adolescent Science Conference

Health News】 Lee Dae-yong, professor of pediatrics at Chung-Ang University Hospital, won the ‘Seokcheon Research Award’ at the 73rd Korean Academy of Pediatrics and Adolescent Science Fall Conference held at Grand Walkerhill Seoul on the 19th.

Professor Dae-Yong Lee received the academic award this time for his research plan titled ‘Identification of immune and nutritional components in Korean breast milk through single cell RNA sequencing and comparison with newborn diseases and growth.’

Professor Dae-yong Lee said, “‘Single cell RNA sequencing’ is a field that is applied to various diseases, and interest in breast milk has recently increased. Through this study, it is possible to analyze the components of breast milk at the cell level. “We expect it to have a positive impact on improving breastfeeding rates,” he said.

Meanwhile, Professor Dae-yong Lee graduated from Chung-Ang University College of Medicine, worked as a full-time physician at Seoul National University Hospital, and is currently the head of the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescents at Chung-Ang University Hospital. He has received the Korean Pediatrics and Adolescents Seokcheon Academic Award twice, including this award, and has been selected as the Young Fellow of the European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition for three consecutive years. He has received awards such as the Medical Scholar Award and the Best Paper Award at the Korea Science and Technology Annual Conference.

The ‘Seokcheon Research Award’ was established to honor the wishes of Professor Seokcheon Hong Chang-eui, who wrote ‘Pediatrics’. It is evaluated as the most prestigious award by the Society of Pediatrics, and the excellence of Professor Lee Dae-yong’s research plan was recognized. I received support.
