Cursed on Netflix, do we watch or skip?

There are series for which we get carried away immediately. We know from the first seconds, see even from the trailer, that it is now an essential program or almost. That we can binge-watcher for hours. With Cursed, before launching the series, we didn’t really know what to do with. After? The question is quickly answered.

Cursed, a cursed universe?

The universe of King Arthur and the Round Table is one of the most prolific myths in popular culture. But, the problem is that the quality is (too) rarely at the rendezvous. We had a little hope this time. Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why) in the lead role and a story by Tom Wheeler / Frank Miller.

Yes but there you go. After half an episode (and again, this estimate is generous), we already wonder what we are doing here. But why did we decide to see this series? Alternating ridiculous and ultra-ridiculous, sequences that oscillate between a Z series nanar and a failed Kaamelott episode, the Cursed series is simply embarrassing. The references to the Round Table with the names of the characters are telephoned, but do not succeed in convincing.

Neither visually, despite some rare clearings under which we feel the paw of the comic book authors, nor from a point of view of the acting, Cursed finally manages to save this season whose episodes are ultimately endless. We spend more time finally imagining what could have been if the series had really been at the end of its ideas.

The worst part of all this? We could well have the right to a season 2. The series manages to find an audience and the cast and the showrunner seem confident. The curse will continue …
