The flood situation in the district remains tense. The Weser reached a new high of 6.35 meters at the Hameln measuring point on Monday, reports the city of Hameln. After the level fell slightly in the morning, it rose again at midday on Christmas Day. According to the city, the online data on the Weser water level is currently incorrect – the water level there is at 5.97 meters at midday. You can find the current Weser water levels usually here.

On Christmas Eve, as a precaution, the Hamelin police arranged for 30 vehicles to be reparked on Ruthenstrasse; everything went smoothly. The city of Hameln continues to ask people to avoid areas near banks. Vehicles that are still there should definitely be removed. Due to the rain forecast for today and tomorrow, the city is expecting water levels of up to 6.40 meters over the Christmas holidays.

In Hessisch Oldendorf the distribution of sandbags has been stopped for the time being. In addition, the Großenwieden through town is closed until further notice. The district road K 88 between Höfingen and Fischbeck and the state road 423 between Krückeberg and Weibeck are also closed. In Hessisch Oldendorf itself, the Steinbrinksweg street is closed until further notice.

There were no new closures or operations in the Bad Pyrmont and Bad Münder areas until Monday afternoon, but the water levels remained high here too.
