In addition, the CIGB announced on the delivery of 120,000 doses without thiomersal, which allowed to begin the immunization of people allergic to this component in Havana (capital) and in other territories of the island.
Thiomersal or thimerosal is present in many of the Cuban vaccines and was previously used for wound healing. In the case of vaccines that are multidose, this compound works as a preservative of the product.
Today Cuba has the vaccine #Abdala_ST for those allergic to thiomersal! CIGB and AICA delivered 120,000 doses to the ENCOMED company to guarantee immunization against SARS-CoV-2 infection in Cubans over 19 years of age who are allergic to this component. #CubaPorLaSalud pic.twitter.com/oMrGkKqTW4
