DB Russell has come to New York to help Mac find Christine, who was kidnapped with Shawn Boyd because of the money Shawn and his brother Jimmy owe a loan shark, Zane Kalim. The latter is arrested following a police operation, but he refuses to say who his accomplices are and where the hostages are. The kidnappers kill Shawn and demand a trade: Christine for Zane.
