Cristiano Ronaldo reveals | Then I end my career – FOOTBALL

Despite his 36 years, Cristiano Ronaldo is the top scorer at Manchester United. He snapped 14 times in all competitions.

But how long does Ronaldo want to keep playing? He revealed that in an interview with ESPN Brasil.

Ronaldo: “I want to find out if I can play until I’m 40, 41 or 42. But the most important thing is that my daily goal is still to enjoy the moment.”

The Portuguese would set a new Premier League record should he actually play to 42. At 40 years and 272 days, former United and Tottenham striker Teddy Sheringham is currently the oldest outfield player in the league.

But he won’t break a record: The oldest professional according to Guinness World Records is Ezzeldin Bahader, who was still playing in the third Egyptian league at the age of 74 years and 125 days.

When asked about his current condition, Ronaldo says: “Genetically, I feel like I’m 30 years old.”

He also explains why: “I take great care of my body and mind. Lately I’ve learned that even after 33 years, the body can still perform when you need it, but the real battle is the mental one.”

Ronaldo continues: “The hardest thing is to get through a lot of things while staying focused on the goal of staying at a high level. I have done that for the last few years.”

The United star concluded: “I’ve been working and I’ve been more focused on working on my mind. I know my body can handle me because I have a lot of respect for it and I listen to it a lot.”

Ronaldo also pointed out that football should follow in the footsteps of the NFL and NBA when it comes to giving athletes time to recover and rest.
