Unsolved murder cases, inexplicable phenomena and other mysteries will soon be discussed Unsolved Mysteries, a new Netflix Original.

That will be a reboot of the eponymous television series that ran in America for 23 years, until 2010. Now Netflix is ​​bringing back the show in the form of a docus series produced by the production company behind Stranger Things, 21 Laps Entertainment.

The first six episodes will be available on July 1. The second half of the first season will follow at a later, unannounced date.

By combining the signature elements of the original series with contemporary compelling, character-driven stories, the twelve new episodes are rooted in the experiences of ordinary people who have lived the unthinkable.

From the trauma of an inexplicable disappearance or horrific death of a loved one to the shock of a bizarre paranormal encounter. In addition to detectives and journalists, family members provide clues, present theories, and identify suspects, hoping that one viewer has the key to solving the mystery.

Netflix goes deep

In other words, time to deploy your inner detective, because the mysteries in this Netflix Original have yet to be solved. Unlike the original series it has Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy chose not to highlight four mysteries per episode, but one:

“We made an early decision to delve deeper into the stories and build a more intimate relationship with the audience. You need time for that. The people we interview often re-share incredibly painful experiences that are traumatic and not easy to discuss. These new episodes each focus on one case that is produced, directed, photographed, edited and provided with music at a high level. I think the public will find it very satisfying. ”
