The Ministry of Health and Social Action takes stock of the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in Senegal, this Monday, August 17, 2020 … Out of 1,049 tests carried out, 75 came back positive, i.e. a positivity rate of 7 , 15%. These are 37 contact cases already followed and 38 cases resulting from community transmission. Which are distributed as follows: Ziguinchor (6), Mermoz (4), Kédougou (3), Dakar Plateau (2), Médina (2), Parcelles Assainies (2), Rufisque (2), Bignona (1), Bounkiling ( 1), Cambérène (1), Cices Foire (1), Cité Fadia (1), Cité Keur Damel (1), Guédiawaye (1), Hann (1), Hlm Grand Yoff (1), Khombole (1), Marists (1), Niary Tally (1), Nord Foire (1), Richard-Toll (1), Sicap Amitié (1), Soprim Extention (1) and Zone de Captage (1).
The Director of Prevention of the Minister of Health, Dr Mamadou Ndiaye, also announced the recovery of 51 patients who were under treatment, 55 serious cases and 3 new deaths from Covid-19
To date, Senegal has 12,237 cases declared positive, including 7,728 cured, 256 dead and therefore 4,252 under treatment.
