Red Bull Salzburg’s test against Liverpool probably fixed

Liverpool FC is currently completing a training camp in Pinzgau, Salzburg. As the “Kronenzeitung” reported online on Tuesday with reference to British sources, a member of the English soccer champions has now tested positive for the corona virus. It was initially unclear whether it was a player and where the person could have been infected with the virus.

In response to an APA request on Tuesday afternoon, the state of Salzburg only confirmed one positive case with a member of the team – and did not provide any details because of data protection. “The person concerned is currently in quarantine in the hotel,” said a spokeswoman for the country.

In addition, a contact person outside of the team was also segregated and the Liverpool FC quarters were provided with emergency plans.

Liverpool FC in Saalfelden since Saturday

The team of star coach Jürgen Klopp trains since last Saturday in Salzburg for ten days. The troop is housed in Gut Brandlhof in Saalfelden. The “Reds” originally wanted to hold a training camp in Evian, France. Since France and England have imposed a mutual quarantine obligation for travelers from the two countries due to the corona pandemic, those responsible decided on a training camp in Austria.

Salzburg hotel completely sealed off

All those responsible for the club are completely isolated from the public in the Brandlhof, and no spectators are allowed during the training sessions. It is still unclear whether the infection will have an impact on a planned test match against Red Bull Salzburg.

According to the – usually well informed – “Liverpool Echo”, the club is silent on the matter. However, it is assumed that the training camp will continue as normal because Klopp is trying to get his protégés in shape before defending the Premier League title.
