The president of the trade unions Devos says this was the only way to avoid the collapse of the care system in the Belgian city
Medical emergency – About one out of four doctors of the hospitals concerned, writes the BBC, are ill because of Covid. Keeping those who, while positive, have no symptoms, was the only way, according to Devos, to prevent the hospital system from collapsing. In the Belgian city the incidence of the virus is very high: one in three people subjected to the swab is in fact positive. Hospitals are moving patients to out-of-town centers and canceling non-urgent surgeries to get through this very delicate moment.
