COVID-19 Peru: Minsa reported XXX deaths and XXX infections in the last 24 hours nndc | PERU

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) that the death toll from coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country rose to 46,685, it is about 191 new deaths. In addition, it reported an increase of 3,134 new infections (1,616 in the last 24 hours), so the total number of infected people reaches 1,332,939.

The Minsa also reported that there are a total of 15,040 hospitalized patients, of which a total of 2,153 are on mechanical ventilation.

It should be noted that since August, the Minsa records a cumulative number of infections from the day and previous days on a daily basis.

As recalled, the first death from coronavirus in the country was reported on Thursday, March 19, 2020. It was a 78-year-old man who suffered from high blood pressure and had been admitted to the Air Force Hospital with severe respiratory failure.

To date, the vaccination process against COVID-19 has begun in the country, after the arrival of one million doses from the Sinopharm laboratory.

Quarantine lifted

The Government announced the lifting of the quarantine in Lima, Callao and the other provinces with an extreme level of risk against the coronavirus. In addition, he indicated that a mandatory social immobilization (curfew) has been provided from 9 pm to 4 am, to mitigate the effects of the second wave by COVID-19.

According to Supreme Decree No. 036-2021-PCM, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano, 24 provinces in 13 regions of the country are at the extreme health risk level, according to the evaluation of recent epidemiological indicators.

The provinces at extreme risk are Huaraz (Áncash); Huánuco (Huánuco); Canchis (Cusco); Satipo, Chanchamayo, Tarma, Huancayo and Chupaca (Junín); Huamanga (Ayacucho); Ica and Chincha (Ica); Huancavelica and Tayacaja (Huancavelica); Metropolitan Lima and Callao, Huaura, Barranca, Huaral and Huarochirí (Lima); Ilo (Moquegua); Puno (Puno); Maynas (Loreto); Oxapampa (Pasco) and Tacna (Tacna).

Likewise, it is specified that on Sunday, March 7 and 14, the immobilization will be strictly observed for 24 hours.

The supreme decree indicates that 119 provinces have a very high health risk, 53 provinces with a high risk level and that there is no province with a moderate health risk.
