COVID-19 in Neighboring Countries Rises, Stay Alert Even After You’ve Been Vaccinated

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – COVID-19 cases in neighboring countries are on the rise, the Government asks the Indonesian people to remain vigilant even though they have been vaccinated. Several neighboring countries, such as Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, are currently facing an escalation of COVID-19 cases.

The Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia Johnny G. Plate emphasized that public vigilance and compliance in implementing health protocols must not slacken, so that Indonesia can avoid the risk of a spike in cases.

“The public should not be trapped in euphoria. Because the data shows that a spike in COVID-19 cases is still occurring in various countries, even countries with high vaccination coverage,” said Plate in a written statement received. Health Liputan6.com on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

A number of countries, continued Plate, are rumored to want to implement a similar policy with Indonesia to control pandemic COVID-19. In Indonesia itself, the Government has implemented a leveled Community Activity Restriction (PPKM).

“The government appreciates the community’s support in implementing PPKM, so that there have been improvements in several indicators, for example the decline in the daily number of cases, the number of active cases, and the death rate due to COVID-19,” he continued.
