COVID-19 | El Agustino: minors arrive accompanied by their parents to receive the first dose of the vaccine

Vaccination day continues COVID-19 in the country. In the Lima district of El Agustino, several children over 5 years of age arrived accompanied by their parents or guardians to receive their first dose and be protected from more severe forms of this disease.

A few days ago, the Ministry of Health began the application of the pediatric vaccine to children between 5 and 11 years of age, considering the entry of new doses of laboratory vaccines Pfizer. These are added to the first group of children under 10, 11 years and under living with comorbidities and immunosuppression throughout the national territory.

The Director of Immunizations of the Minsa, Gabriela Jiménez, commented that the sector has been coordinating with the Ministry of Education to achieve a greater convocation of children to educational centers that have become temporary vaccination centers.

“We are holding several coordinated meetings with Minedu and open links with different educational institutions in the country through the regional government and they are observing, in the first days of the vaccine, how it is going and thereby ratifying their assistance in the following schedules,” he said. .

As recalled, minors can go with their parents or a proxy to all vaccination centers, health establishments and educational institutions authorized for this purpose. Upon entering the vaccination site, the ID of the child and the accompanying adult must be shown, who will be in charge of signing the informed consent form.

If for various reasons the minor does not have a DNI, the birth or baptism certificate or the regular vaccination card (where all the vaccinations applied since birth are recorded) can be presented.
