It is yet another set of measures to try to contain the spread of the new coronavirus in Portugal.

These measures will be in force until April 3 and make Italy the second country in the world to take the most drastic measures, after China.

The decree was signed last morning by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and will affect 16 million Italians, more than a quarter of the country’s population.

Italian health officials have so far accounted for 233 deaths and more than 5800 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in the country.
