Auction house Mecum will put up for sale at the Eddie Vannoy Collection 2020 in June a unique car – the Saleen S281E fastback, which is identical to the character Barricade from the movie Transformers. The sports car did not act in films, but took part in PR events organized in support of the release of the first part of the franchise. Its mileage is just over 7,500 kilometers.

Externally, the Saleen S281E completely repeats the Barricade Decepticon – in the film, it transforms into a patrol car. Fastback painted in black and white livery with stickers 911 and To Punish and Enslave (English to punish and enslave); equipped with a flashing chandelier and a bumper pusher. In total, Saleen built two such machines, and this instance was involved in press events on the US east coast.

Under the hood of the sports car, a V8 4.6 engine is installed with a Twin-Screw drive supercharger, a low-resistance air filter, a Saleen Powerflash control unit and a stainless steel exhaust system with outlets in the center of the rear bumper.

The power of the unit is 558 horsepower and 712 Nm of torque.

Traction on the rear wheels is transmitted through a six-speed “mechanics” Tremec and a limited slip differential Saleen MaxGrip. Acceleration to “hundreds” in less than 4.5 seconds and a maximum speed of about 250 kilometers per hour are claimed for the S281E.

Other features of the car: six-piston brake calipers “in a circle”, Saleen Racecraft sports suspension with two anti-roll bars and coil-over struts, front splitter, diffuser and rear spoiler, as well as 20-inch wheels shod with Pirelli P- tires Zero Rosso.

Now in the American Saleen lineup there is an 800-horsepower S302, built on the basis of the current Ford Mustang, “charged” Sportruck and Sportruck XR pickups, as well as a redesigned Tesla Model S (Saleen GTX) and a Saleen 1 supercar. The latter is about to get on the conveyor of the new Jiangsu Secco factory in China. The coupe is equipped with a “turbo-four” 2.2, giving out 456 forces and 542 Nm of torque, capable of developing 290 kilometers per hour and accelerating from zero to “hundreds” in 3.5 seconds.
