On September 17, the association’s board of directors appointed Gilles de Larouzière as president and Cyprien Arlaud as deputy president. They will work on sustainability for future generations.

Change of president for the association of Climats du vignoble de Bourgogne – world heritage: Gilles de Larouzière succeeds Guillaume d’Angerville
Since November 2015, Guillaume d’Angerville has been at the head of the Association des Climats du vignoble de Bourgogne – World Heritage, succeeding Aubert de Villaine, alongside whom he had carried the application for the past 3 years. Winegrower in Volnay, Guillaume d’Angerville now passes the torch with confidence to Gilles de Larouzière, President of Maison Bouchard Père et Fils. A change in continuity, prepared between the two men for 2 years, with the approval of the Board of Directors. Guillaume d’Angerville does not move away from the Association, however, since he will continue to sit there. With a new admiral on board, the Association is ready to meet the new challenges that await it in this special year.
A moving handover
The announcement was made during the Board of Directors on Thursday, September 17. Not without emotion, Guillaume d’Angerville announced his wish to hand over and make way for “new blood”. Aubert de Villaine paid tribute to his commitment and spoke of his pride in seeing the progress made by the Association and the sincere investment of each successive President, while maintaining this fundamental attachment to the wine world.
Guillaume d’Angerville, a personality who leaves his mark
Guillaume d’Angerville left his mark on the Association des Climats and its actions. Maintaining this unwavering link with the wine world, not hesitating to put his notoriety and that of his domain to the benefit of the cause of Climates, he is attached to many projects. We can mention in particular the creation of the Heritage Fund, in favor of the restoration of the wine heritage, which has so far made it possible to support some 114 owners to revive the dry stone heritage of the Climats. A second project that is particularly close to his heart: “Paroles vigneronnes”, this collection of interviews with winegrowers, testifying to the evolution over 50 years of viticulture, its practices and its social fabric.
Gilles de Larouzière, new President at the head of the Association
It is with honor and humility that Gilles de Larouzière took up his new functions. “I am fully aware of the requirement of the mission. I am proud and honored to continue the work initiated by Aubert de Villaine and Guillaume d’Angerville and hope to show myself up to the task. This assignment is not a line added to a CV. It is a deep commitment to a cause and a territory that are particularly close to my heart. There was the long application phase, then the post-registration phase where the association found its place among local partners.
We are entering a third phase, that of the sustainability of the management of the site, to pass it on to future generations. I hope, with the help of Cyprien Arlaud, to carry this ambition high with the support of all ”. As traditionally, a Chairman / Deputy Chairman pair has in fact been formed with Cyprien Arlaud, winemaker in Morey-Saint-Denis and administrator of the Association for two years, who in turn becomes Deputy Chairman.
