Monster Hunter World: Iceborne – Bug deletes PC backups – News

Since last Thursday, intrepid players have equipped themselves with their most beautiful armor in order to survey the new extension of Monster Hunter World. Unfortunately, as some players tell us, it seems that this new adventure is not without problems. By launching a game on Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, monster hunters were left with their saved save data.

Bad news for PC players who were anxiously waiting to get their hands on the Iceborne expansion Monster hunter world to take advantage of their keyboard / mouse combo. Indeed, some unlucky people came across an error message indicating that there is no backup compatible with Iceborne. If you receive this message, we advise you to stop your game and avoid continuing or starting a whole new game since a backup will replace the old one, thereby removing your progress.

Capcom seems to be aware of the problems and is already looking at the situation according to Polygon. Now all that remains is to hope that the lost parts will be recovered and that the problem will be resolved in the next few hours.

For their part, the players seem to have some theories about the cause of the problem. The hunters affected by the bug would be those who have installed mods in the past on the no extension version of Monster Hunter World. To counter this big problem, starting from scratch hundreds of hours of play is not pleasant, these same players advise you to save your data in the Steam cloud before trying to launch Iceborne.
