The World Health Organization (WHO) spoke Tuesday, May 12, of potentially positive data
concerning certain treatments appearing to limit the severity or duration of coronavirus diseaseShe also said that she would focus on the more promising four or five.
” We need more data “
We have certain treatments which seem, according to studies which are only at their beginning, to limit the gravity or the duration of the disease but we have nothing yet which can kill or stop the virus
said WHO spokeswoman Margaret Harris at a press briefing.
We do have potentially positive data coming out but we need more data if we want to be 100% sure we can say ‘this treatment’ against another
, she added.
So far, none of the potential treatments has proven effective against this virus that appeared in China in December before spreading to more than 200 countries around the world. WHO warned in April that a vaccine should not be expected before at least 12 months
