Florence, 15 July 2020 – In Tuscany there are 10,338 cases of positivity at coronavirus, otto more than yesterday. The new cases are 0.08% more than the total of the previous day. The healed grow by 0.04% and reach 8,898 (86.1% of the total cases). The tests performed reached 379,196, 3,451 more than yesterday. The currently positive are 313, + 0.6% compared to yesterday. Today there are 2 deaths: 2 men, with an average age of 74 years.

These are the data – ascertained at 12 noon today on the basis of the requests of the National Civil Protection – relating to the trend of the epidemic in the region.
Five of today’s eight new cases are attributable to people who have returned from abroad.

The new cases in Florence, Prato, Massa Carrara and Pisa
Below are the cases of positivity in the area with the change compared to yesterday. There are 3,223 total cases to date in Florence (1 more than yesterday), 546 a Meadow (2 more), 749 in Pistoia, 1,054 in Massa Carrara (2 more), 1,365 in Lucca, 936 a Pisa (3 more), 479 in Livorno, 682 in Arezzo, 429 in Siena, 404 in Grosseto. There are 471 positive cases reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.
Three more, therefore, the cases found today in the Central ASL, 5 in the North West, 0 in the South East.
Tuscany is confirmed in 10th place in Italy as number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with about 277 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average around 403 x100,000, yesterday’s figure). The provinces of notification with the highest rate are Massa Carrara with 541 cases x100,000 inhabitants, Lucca with 352, Florence with 319, the lowest Livorno with 143.
Hospitalizations increase
Altogether, 301 people are in isolation at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment, or are symptom-free (stable compared to yesterday).
There are 717 (more 18 than yesterday, plus 2.6%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance because they have had contacts with infected people (ASL Centro 468, North West 182, South East 67).
People hospitalized in the beds dedicated to Covid patients today there are a total of 12, (2 more than yesterday, plus 20%), of which 3 in intensive care (1 more than yesterday, plus 50%).
The total number of people healed is 8,898 (4 more than yesterday, plus 0.04%): 163 people “clinically healed” (plus 2 compared to yesterday, plus 1.2%), that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting associated clinical manifestations infection and 8,735 (plus 2 compared to yesterday, plus 0.02%) declared cured in all respects, the so-called viral healings, with double negative buffer.
Two deaths are registered today: 2 men, with an average age of 74 years.
Two deaths: in Florence and Lucca
With regard to the province of notification, the deceased are one a Florence and an a Lucca.
1,127 have died since the beginning of the epidemic, divided as follows: 414 in Florence, 52 in Prato, 81 in Pistoia, 172 in Massa Carrara, 143 in Lucca, 90 in Pisa, 61 in Livorno, 49 in Arezzo, 33 in Siena, 24 in Grosseto, 8 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.
The raw Tuscan mortality rate (number of deceased / resident population) for Covid-19 it is 30.2 x100.000 residents against 58.0 x100.000 of the Italian average (11th region). As for the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (88.3 x100,000), Florence (40.9 x100,000) and Lucca (36.9 x100,000), the lowest at Grosseto (10.8 x100,000).
