Lcoronavirus epidemic has caused the death of 263 people in the last 24 hours in France, again rising sharply after several days of record decline, according to the balance sheet published Monday by the Directorate General of Health (DGS), on the first evening of the deconfinement of the population.
In total since March 1, 26,643 deaths have been recorded but the pressure on hospital emergency services is still reducing, with 64 fewer serious patients in intensive care, she said. “The epidemic is still active and evolving”

While the gradual deconfinement is underway, the DGS calls for “respect for all barrier measures, including the wearing of a mask for the general public”, stressing that “the epidemic is still active and evolving”. It also ensures that “virological testing capabilities to search for the virus (…) are available throughout the territory”.
