Coronavirus now also found in Gelderland

GELDERLAND – It was announced late in the evening on Tuesday that the corona virus has now also broken out in Gelderland. A man from Kerkwijk, municipality of Zaltbommel, has been infected with the virus. The man is currently in the hospital in Den Bosch, according to Omroep Gelderland.
The coronavirus had previously broken out in other parts of the country, but Gelderland was still being spared. The first outbreak was on Thursday, February 27 in Tilburg, after which it always appeared that, after testing in laboratories, the virus was spreading. For example, people here in Gelderland are now infected with the virus. On Tuesday, the number of people with a corona virus was still at 23. The RIVM is also conducting a contact investigation this time.
RIVM remains alert to possible new infections and applies the same protocol when new infections are found: isolation, contact investigation and continuous monitoring of the patient.
