Industry production collapses, Italy worse
Last March industrial production in the 19 countries of the Eurozone registered a historical collapse, decreasing by 11.3% on February and by 12.9% compared to a year earlier. The worst result on a monthly basis, according to data released today by Eurostat, was that of Italy (minus 28.4%) while on an annual basis it did worse than Italy (where the decrease was 29.3 %) was only Luxembourg (minus 32.7%). In the EU as a whole, the drop in production was 10.4% in March and 11.8% compared to a year earlier.
