Coronavirus in Poland. An infected official in the Małopolska Provincial Office

Laboratory tests confirmed the infection in one of the employees of the Civil Affairs Department of the Małopolska Voivodship Office, whose seat is located at Sebastiana Street in Krakow – the voivodeship office informed on Monday.

All department staff who had contact with the infected were sent to quarantine. From Wednesday until further notice, the Civil Affairs Department will stop accepting clients and accepting new applications directly. “This applies primarily to passport matters and Polish citizenship” – informed MUW.

In the announcement, the Office reminds that the Małopolska local passport points remain unchanged. It also emphasizes that the passport application can be submitted at any passport point in the country.

MUW also informs that applications for temporary passports (issued in exceptional random situations) in Małopolska from Wednesday can be submitted only at passport points located in the regional offices of the Małopolska Provincial Office in Tarnów and in Nowy Sącz.

Those who have already applied for a passport need not worry. They will be able to collect it after prior telephone booking. As stated in the press release, the passport “will be handed over by workers who have not been exposed to an infected person.”

On Monday, 619 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were reported.
