During the delivery of the first oxygen plant for the Arequipa region, the minister pointed out that currently there are 320 tons of this resource distributed nationwide for patient care COVID-19; however, he acknowledged that the ideal for the country would be to have plants everywhere so as not to depend on acquisitions “that at some point may fail us or reach the limit.”

After highlighting the need for all hospitals to have their own oxygen plant in the future, the minister pointed out that her sector currently has an application for the consumption of this resource, as well as a mapping of the situation of hospitals and whether they they have plants, which allows “to choose the place that is most in need of this plant.”

Finally, the Minister of Health pointed out that 64 oxygen plants are required for the “prioritized” establishments, while a second moment will seek to reach around 157. In that sense, she reported that there are currently 24 in the project and 4 pending approval.
