Lhe average of new coronavirus contamination stood at 215.6 daily cases between July 15 and 21, an increase of 63% compared to the previous seven days, according to the latest data released Saturday morning by the Institute of public health Sciensano.
The increase in new infections is therefore less than on Friday when an increase of 89% was observed, with an average of 220 new infections per day between July 14 and 20.

Hospitals were treating 218 coronavirus patients on Friday. Twenty-eight hospital admissions were recorded and 25 discharged. Intensive care received 41 patients (+1), 17 of whom required respiratory assistance.
Since the start of the epidemic, Belgium has mourned the deaths of 9,817 patients (+5).
