Corona Soaring Continues, the US is in a Difficult Situation!

Washington DC

Leading infectious disease expert United States of America (AS), Dr Anthony Fauci, calling the US now in an ‘unnecessarily difficult situation’ due to a spike in cases corona virus (COVID-19) triggered by unvaccinated people and the spread of the Delta variant.

“We are going in the wrong direction,” said Dr Fauci, as reported by Associated Press, Monday (26/7/2021). He described himself as “very frustrated” with the pandemic situation in the US.

Dr Fauci added that the recommendation for people already vaccinated to wear masks was “still under active consideration” by the government. Then also about booster injections, according to Fauci, will be recommended for people with weak immune systems who have been vaccinated.

Fauci who is also the head of the President’s medical adviser Joe Biden, told the television program CNN ‘State of the Union’ that he was involved in talks about changing the guidelines for wearing masks in the midst of a pandemic.

He stressed that some local jurisdictions in areas that have seen a spike in cases, such as Los Angeles County, have called on citizens to wear masks in indoor public places regardless of their vaccination status.

Fauci said such local regulations are in line with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommendation that people who have been vaccinated do not need to wear masks in public.

According to CDC data, more than 164 million people or 49 percent of the total US population have now been fully vaccinated. For those who qualify for the vaccine, with ages 12 and over, the number rises to 57 percent.

“This is a dominant issue among people who have not been vaccinated, which is why we are out there practically begging people who are not vaccinated to go and get vaccinated,” Fauci said.
