There is a new suspected corona virus in Barsinghausen in the Hanover region. As the “Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung“(HAZ) reports that a ski instructor may have been infected with the virus during a free time in Austria. Traveling students and teachers from the Lisa Tetzner School should stay at home for the time being, writes the newspaper.
As a precaution, students and teachers should stay at home
In the Goslar district, too, eleven students and two teachers from the Pestalozzi school were recommended to stay at home until mid-March after a school trip in South Tyrol because of a possible infection with the corona virus. That reports NDR 1 Lower Saxony. This is a pure precautionary measure against the virus. The procedure was coordinated with the school management, said the district of Goslar. South Tyrol is not yet a risk area, but an infection risk cannot be completely ruled out.

School trip to Italy postponed
The coronavirus epidemic is also influencing planned school trips to schools in Lower Saxony. A Papenburg grammar school has postponed a trip to Rome with 1,000 participants planned for March. The Artland Gymnasium in Quakenbrück has not yet decided whether students will go to Italy. The state school authority recommends that you keep an eye on the travel information provided by the Federal Foreign Office: Schools are advised to adapt their travel plans to current events and to check whether the tour operator cannot offer alternative dates to other regions, said a spokeswoman. The Federal Foreign Office has not yet issued a travel warning for Italy. Lower Saxony’s Minister of Culture Grant Hendrik Tonne (SPD) sees things similarly.
