Corona protection regulation updated – Neustadt whisper

From tomorrow, Thursday, October 21, 2021, the new Corona Protection Ordinance decided by the state government will apply in Saxony. It is valid up to and including November 17, 2021.

The warning and overload level are still linked to the bed capacity and 7-day incidence hospitalizations, but there will be a change in the conditions for reaching the warning and overload level: From now on it is sufficient if the respective Exposure values for the hospital beds in the normal or intensive care unit have been reached. The limit values for the warning level are 650 Covid-19 patients in the normal ward and 180 Covid-19 patients in the intensive care unit, for the overload level they are 1,300 patients in the normal ward and 420 intensive care patients. As of October 19, there are 398 Covid patients in Saxon hospitals, 118 of them in intensive care units. Source: sachsen.de

Exceptions for Christmas markets and mountain parades

Christmas markets, mountain parades and similar events typical of the country with more than 1,000 simultaneous visitors should be able to take place again this year. In these cases, the health authorities can allow exceptions to contact recording, the 3G regulation and the obligation to wear mouth and nose protection within the framework of approved hygiene concepts until the advance warning level has been reached.

Even after reaching the pre-warning or overload level, the events are still possible. If the event is divided into strolling and lingering areas, there is no need for contact recording, 3G regulation and the obligation to wear a mask in the strolling areas.

In the lingering areas, the three restrictions mentioned do not apply if no more than 1,000 people are in the area at the same time. Otherwise, contacts must be recorded, the 3G rule must be applied and, as a matter of principle, it is mandatory to wear mouth and nose protection.

Changes to the 2G option model

If an organizer decides – regardless of whether fewer or more than 1,000 visitors are present at the same time – in favor of the 2G option model, the previous limit of 5,000 visitors and the obligation to record contacts no longer apply with the new regulation. Unvaccinated people who have not yet reached the age of 16 or for whom the Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko) has not submitted a vaccination recommendation for medical reasons can also take part. However, both require a negative test for entry and, if necessary, a medical certificate.

With the optional 2G model, the following facilities, events and other offers can remove all distance and capacity restrictions and the mask requirement if only vaccinated or recovered visitors are present:

  • Indoor catering
  • Indoor events and celebrations
  • Indoor sports
  • Indoor pools and saunas
  • Indoor cultural and leisure facilities
  • Large events with a maximum number of 5,000 attendees at the same time
  • tourist train and bus journeys
  • Discos, bars, indoor clubs
  • Indoor art, music and dance schools

If the 2G option is to be used, this must be reported to the responsible health department three working days in advance. The possibility of only admitting vaccinated and convalescent persons no longer applies when the overload level is reached. Then 2G becomes mandatory – mask requirement as well as capacity restrictions must be observed.

Corona vaccination in the vaccination center of the health department

If you want a corona vaccination, you can get it from November without registration on Fridays and Saturdays at the vaccination center of the Office for Health and Prevention, Am Brauhaus 8 (in the Waldschlößchen area). All adults, adolescents and children from the age of twelve can get vaccinated against Covid 19 between November 5th and December 18th. It is open on Fridays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. At these times, only the corona vaccinations take place, no other vaccinations. Access to the vaccination center is barrier-free. It is not necessary to book an appointment for the vaccination campaign – just dropping in is enough. Due to the great interest in mobile offers, the city administration recommends arriving at least one hour before closing time and allowing a little waiting time.

In the presence of doctors and employees of the DRK, the vaccines from Johnson & Johnson and BioNTech as well as Moderna are administered; there is a choice. At Johnson & Johnson, one dose is sufficient, and this vaccine may only be used in people aged 60 and over. BioNTech vaccines require a second vaccination after three weeks and Moderna after four weeks. Complete vaccination protection exists after a further 14 days. The necessary second vaccinations can then also be given on site by December 18th.

During the vaccination campaign, both first and second vaccinations as well as booster vaccinations are offered. Booster vaccinations for immunosuppressed people (with suppressed immune system) are unfortunately not possible. In these cases, the general practitioners should be consulted directly.

The vaccination is free of charge. Interested parties should bring a document for personal proof, i.e. the chip card or ID or passport, as well as the yellow vaccination book, if available. The information sheet and anamnesis sheet is available on site. For young people under 16, the presence of a person with custody and the consent of the other person with custody are required. Young people who are 16 or 17 years old only need a declaration of consent. The guardians do not have to be present.

  • Information on other mobile vaccination campaigns as well as other useful things related to Corona are available on the Internet at www.dresden.de/corona released.
