On Tuesday morning shortly before 9 a.m., 23 people stand in front of the vaccination center at the Triemli Hospital in Zurich. First in line: an 81-year-old man with a beret. He has the coveted first appointment in this second phase of the mass vaccination. His son helped him last week when online registrations were possible again, he says 40 minutes later when he comes out of the tent.
“It didn’t hurt at all,” he says. The man is happy to be immune to corona soon. His wife has already been vaccinated twice – she was lucky enough to be vaccinated by the family doctor. “If we both have the vaccination certificate, we’ll fly to Gran Canaria or Cyprus,” he says, full of anticipation.
